People, or robots?
Of last week’s changes, which were people and which were an automation rule or a bulk edit?
Client escalation: EU card payments failing at checkout
A random Tuesday
Right now, your reaction to any of these is a sinking feeling in your stomach.
Meet UndoTrail
The undo button for your entire business.
Every project. Every field. Every comment. And one click that puts it all back.
You aren't spending your time managing software delivery any more. You are playing detective in a system that wasn't built to give you answers.
Three scenarios, one Tuesday
Pick one. This is the afternoon, or the weekend, that Jira hands you today.

The three-question test
The scenarios above are somebody else's Tuesday. These three are about your Jira, right now, with a stopwatch running. All three inside five minutes? You don't need us. If not, you have just found the gap that Tuesday falls through.
Of last week’s changes, which were people and which were an automation rule or a bulk edit?
If your most important epic were deleted in the next hour, with its subtasks, what could you restore? Which fields? In what status?
Every change to Status, Assignee and Priority, across all your projects, in the last 30 days, with who made each one.
Meet UndoTrail
UndoTrail is a Jira Cloud app that does the one thing Jira natively cannot: it gives you absolute control over the past. We didn't build another clunky backup tool. We built a time machine that watches every project, every field and every comment, giving you the power to see exactly what happened, and instantly put it back.
Here is the reality of what your workday looks like when UndoTrail is doing the heavy lifting for you.
Benefit one
When a bulk edit ruins hundreds of tickets, you no longer panic. You don't send an apologetic Slack message to the entire engineering team. You open UndoTrail and do three things.
Automation rules and bulk edits carry a marker. One filter isolates the robot’s changes from human work, across every project at once.
Read exactly what will be written, field by field, so you can be sure you aren’t overwriting anything new.
600 ruined work items go back to exactly how they looked at 9:59 AM, the minute before the rule ran.
What you see while it runs
UndoTrail re-reads every work item at the moment of writing, so a colleague's later edit is never quietly overwritten.
| Item | Field | Now | Goes back to |
|---|---|---|---|
| PAY-1042 | Priority | Low | High |
| PAY-1038 | Priority | Low | High |
| PAY-1031 | Priority | Low | Medium |
| OPS-311 | Priority | Low | Highest |
| … and 596 more | |||
| Item | Field | Result |
|---|---|---|
| PAY-1042 | Priority | Written |
| PAY-1038 | Priority | Skipped: Tom Reid changed it at 08:12 |
| PAY-1031 | Priority | Written |
| OPS-311 | Priority | Skipped: Priya Shah changed it at 08:40 |
| Outcome | Items |
|---|---|
| Written | 598 |
| Skipped, edited since | 2 |
| Failed | 0 |
Every change the rule made, and exactly what each field will go back to. You read it first, then you press go.
Within three minutes, 600 ruined work items are restored to exactly how they looked at 9:59 AM. Your team doesn't even notice something broke.
Benefit two
If you operate in finance, healthcare, SaaS or any regulated industry, SOX, SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 audits are a recurring nightmare. UndoTrail removes human effort from this equation entirely. You don't prepare for audits any more. UndoTrail does.
Step 1 · Once
You set up a saved viewPerson, field, project, sprint or date range, in plain filters. You build it one time and never touch it again.
Step 2 · Every month
The system generates itA tamper-evident Excel export with timezone-correct timestamps, built while you sleep.
Step 3 · Signed
Cryptographically sealedA SHA-256 hash recorded with who signed it, why and when, so anyone can prove the file has not been touched.
Step 4 · Delivered
Onto a secure Jira ticketIt arrives as an attachment on a work item you choose. The auditor stops having to ask.
When the auditor arrives, you hand them a perfect, unassailable file, up to 150,000 changes in one file.
Benefit three
“I don’t know who changed this” is no longer part of your vocabulary. When a VP asks why a critical deliverable shifted from High to Low priority, you don’t guess. You have a cross-project dashboard that tells you precisely who made the change, what the old value was, and when it happened.
You become the one person in the company who always has the exact answer, in the exact meeting it was asked.
Benefit four
People paste things into Jira they shouldn't: API keys, passwords, customer credit card numbers. When they realise their mistake, they delete the text, thinking the problem is solved. It isn't. It lives forever in Jira's history.
Not only what is on the work item today. Every historical value of every field, as far back as Jira’s own record goes.
API keys, tokens, card numbers and personal data. The high-risk detectors check the value as well as the shape, so a commit hash is not flagged as a secret.
A severity-ranked list of exposed credentials, masked on screen, so your security team can remediate the risk before it becomes a breach.
UndoTrail acts as your silent security guard. It finds the ghosts in the machine.
Get back what someone deleted
Deleted items land in a bin with who deleted them and when, and they come back whole. Capture is on from the minute you install.

An offer built on pure logic
Bulk revert, compliance exports and deleted-item capture are all in the one plan. Capture is on from the moment you install, so the history is already there on the day you need it.
UndoTrail gives you everything in a single, transparent plan, with every feature included.

Zero risk from your procurement team
UndoTrail operates entirely on Atlassian's Forge infrastructure. It requests only four minimal permissions and strictly enforces zero data egress. Atlassian's platform enforces that on every deployment: a technical fact, not a policy promise.
You are one wrong click away from losing weeks of your team's work, or one audit away from a weekend of manual misery. Every day before you install UndoTrail is a day of deletions that are permanently unrecoverable.
Stop managing disasters by hand
Three minutes from now you are covered. The next time someone asks what happened, you will have the answer.
From the Atlassian Marketplace. Capture is already on the moment it lands.
Pick a project, press Run. Every change, who made it, what it was before.
Press "Snapshot every work item" once, so even items nobody has touched since install are fully restorable.
Coming to the Atlassian Marketplace, with a 30-day free trial. Always free for your first 10 users.
Questions
No, and it can’t. It operates entirely on Atlassian’s Forge infrastructure, requests four minimal permissions and strictly enforces zero data egress. The platform enforces that on every deployment.
No. UndoTrail starts capturing complete snapshots the very second it is installed. There is no opt-in switch to forget and no webhook to configure. Press "Snapshot every work item" once and everything already in your instance is restorable too.
Every report runs as the person who asked. If Jira wouldn’t show them a project, UndoTrail won’t either. Not one row more.
It handles a full report of up to 150,000 changes, with timezone-correct timestamps, values over 32,000 characters and duplicate column names. That is the size real audits are, not the size demos are.
Yes. Every feature has its own switch. Reports, exports, revert, restore, the security scanner and viewer history can each be open to everyone, kept to Jira admins, or given to the Jira groups you choose. The scanner starts with admins only. Comment and viewer history can be switched off, or left out of projects such as HR or Legal.
One transparent plan, with every feature in it. Free for up to 10 users, and a 30-day free trial above that. The table above has the common sizes.
Capture keeps running and nothing stored is deleted. Each work item’s own history stays free for ever, so a lapse never leaves a hole in your audit trail.
The team, and they know the product. Email help@astrospray.com; our target for a first reply is four business hours.
P.S. While you were reading this page, how many project scopes were quietly altered, or subtasks permanently deleted across your Jira instance? Right now, you can only guess. UndoTrail knows the exact answer, and in one click, it can put them all back.
Not ready yet? Forward this page to your security team with one line: “Runs on Forge, four permissions, zero egress, runs as the user.”
